I confess - I wasn't sure that a bread maker could make as good as hand made - but mum left hers here with a mix - so I tried it - yummmmmmo! I'm in love and take back the doubt - though the making it isn't as sensuous - there are times when you just need to punch down the risen dough and feel it become smooth under your hands -this works in a pinch.

Oh and for those so inclined - seaquining fruit takes a longgggggggggggg time. And I still cant make a banana!

Frog it, you just have to frog it, frog it real good!
The moral of this story - never ever crochet in the half dark - hole in your bedroom to help keep you up, while you have 2 seven year olds taking over the lounge room ( and staying up ridiculously late!!)
RIP handbag, may you carry all the junk you need in heaven.
But in other crafty news - I cant make a bannana and im in love with gold spray paint.

For a while there have been 2 pug puppy's at the pet store and each time I go past they would break my heart - the only things that stopped me taking them home is the against pet stores, no money and Rod didn't want pugs. I think they desperately wanted to come home with me and be called Priscilla and petunia and wear tutus and princess outfits. Now don't get me wrong I've never had this type of Paris fetish before, but it struck, now they have gone and I miss them.

Today we had one of those beautiful nothing out of the ordinary days that was just lovely - though it started really early (why is the rule of sleep overs that now matter how late you stay up, you have to get up when the sunrises?) we cleaned, played, crafted, watched movies, read and had fun - but it feels like it was the best day ever.

Oh and more news - people have brought the dead mans house! Though I keep wondering if they knew that he was in there for a few days or if they knew about it at all. ( for those not in the know - last septish the police knocked on our door, they were door knocking (sorry that was obvious), The man across the culdesac had been found dead by the neighbor's and had been for a few days. It was and still is very sad - he had no one to miss him. that breaks my heart.

ok then
http://muffinfilms.com/index.htm, this just kept Joshie Tyler and myself very involved for a bit - think Im going to try and make Joshie a monster muffin now.

Finished my scarf - decided to just to the same ruffles on both sides so I could move on and not frog - dosnt look that bad! though its a bit thick for a scarf and to skinny for a wrap so its a wrarf! Did Tylers mittens just have to attach them thumbs now - very impressed with my self as I winged it! Go mummy!

Joshie gave me my mothers day prezzies - a bling red ring - its huge! and a lovelly necklace - plus the teddy and mug from the school mothers day stall, my bub has good taste. trying to con Tyler into sleeping so I can make him some more pants and hit the new craft books I got from the library.
My mothers day prez from Rod and TYler was a trip to my big opp shop that I havent been to in years - very disapointing - nothing good no good sheets for material and I sifted through a huge laundry hamoer full of sewing patterns and the only good one was in a size that is impossible for me after second baby syndrome! But we got a new (old saucepan), a seasme street big bird working lamp an da old craft book.

I did my ruffles on one side - just did dc in the same hole 6 times, except I think it looks to poufy so ill try the other side with only four and then frog one or the other.

froggging makes me nervous, I dont know why - any work is progress and it makes me sad.

I was thinking it would look good in a black wool with a skull and cross bones with a bottom frill. This frill addiction is scaring me, Im not normally a frilly girl.

Money tomorrow so battery, and then you can see the simpleness of it all ( I cant wait till I get good).

Mum was reminding me of an art project she did when she crochet dental dams and diaprhrams ( must get piccies off her to scan in). I had for gotten about those ones, I remember the thornes covering the womans tools and the embroidered dispossable pads with all the mens words - ie menstration etc - the most.
But the thing that sticks out in my mind about mums work was listening to an interview with her on the radio where this woman kept calling her work c*nt art.

There is something that satisfies you deep in the soul when your child wears something you have made. Its a whole new level of providing, one I wasnt sure I was capable of. But I was wrong, It was only a pair of the simplest pants made from a fake cord fleece, but once it was done and he was wearing it - you couldnt tell that I had made them, and they kept him warm and snug. It soothed my soul.

I also finally finished my scarf - though now I think it needs a frill so back to work.
I got lots of ebay craft book goodness through the week so I am deeply involved in dreaming of new projects and I ordered 2 books from Richard ( my local independant bookstore) 300 crochet stitches and the.... HAPPY HOOKER!!! very very excited!

More crafty shopping goodness today - I got to hit spotlight with my other voucher - more wool for my scarf, elastic so I can finish the jammies and tjs pants, some black trackie material and some really cheap polar fleece for Tj, and some lovely green backed cats with handbags for my pjs and some luscious paper doll flannie, it is pink and beautiful it has prints of the old paper dolls and dresses etc - I cant wait to use it and wear it!

Yay - I actually got stuff done today - finished all but the elastic on my pair of pjs - which needed resizing as I made them ....... To Big - but not bad for my first adult wearable, I made them 3/4 as I didn't have enough of that luscious material - but it also allows to me to show off my socks - I have some stunners I love socks - I'm currently wearing some rainbow ones with lil plushie faces on the sides from NZ.

I also made some pants for the Buddha - need to rework the pattern I'm using ( 50c opp shop bargain see below) as they are a bit tight on the hips but they are cute - the material I've got is a bit more suited to jammies but is cute anyway

Also working on my crochet scarf - need more wool - its all done in Eng double crochet as I was just practicing but it was so relaxing I just kept going and the next thing I know I was out of wool.

But I get to spend my voucher at spotlight tomorrow - so new wool, elastic, more material and a partridge in a pair tree here I come. Oh and a battery for the camera so I can show off!

My opp shop bargains - yesterday I got active and decided after dropping Joshie off I would walk in to blackers which takes me past this opp shop I don't normally get to look in unless Rod is going to the music store, and I got bargains - 2 patterns, a sewing book for kids and a TOPKIDS mag including untouched patterns for $3.50!!!!!!!!!! So excited!

Im half way through my first pair of Pj pants - they are in the most beautiful ugly flannie - I wish my camera worked so I could show you the material goodness.

And I got a $40 voucher to spend at spotlight - yay - Im trying to find my first pattern for crocheting, so I can spend that on supplys for that. I borrowed a library book on baby crochet hats and booties and they have lil cowboy booties for Tyler - though as they are beyond my skill level I wont be touching them yet - Im actually a bit nervous to start a pattern.
